Etymology:

From Luganda akabaka.


Noun:

kabaka (plural kabakas) The title of the king of Buganda. 2009, Diarmaid MacCulloch, A History of Christianity, Penguin 2010, p. 886: In the end, Buganda's identification between Crown and Church was so great that when in 1953 the British Governor of Uganda exiled the Kabaka of Buganda for political reasons, the Mothers' Union of the Anglican Church was loud among the chorus of furious protest.
